New Website (Coming Soon)
Hello again, I know it's been a while since I've posted and it's all due to the hard work and labor on my new site! I'm coming up with some real cool ideas and it takes a while to create a impressive website that sums up my style and art. Okay so what have I been working on that so impressive LOL... I call it my THEMED SITE. I've based my site on my avatar character (the one in the site banner). I wanted to create cool themes based upon my interest using my avatar. For example when you enter mysite you get your choice of what version/theme you want to view my site in. I currently have a Star Trek Theme, Afro Samurai theme, Racing Theme (like my tumblr blog), Kill Bill Theme (like this blog), and working on my Western theme + more. I really wanted to do this because I enjoy coming up with these ideas and I don't want a boring straight forward site, I want to give you me and my style along with some eye candy. The site will be launching um.. soon is all i can say at this point. I'll keep you informed on my progress!
Grand JSTEV Design
In a demanding world of design the pressure is on, one designer has a mission to over come obstacles to protect and create the most amazing designs to save the world...... uh ok sounding kinda silly. I created this as an advertising campaign for my upcoming website and of course it's GTA (Grand Theft Auto) inspired. I really enjoy making characters and have always been inspired by the GTA covers and artwork (the games are the best).
LOGOS (Part 1)
Here are 2 new Logos I have been working on. I really love these logos (just a couple of my favorites out of many I've done! LeBrasta is mountain wear (Like, The North Face) & Cariello is sweet very expensive mint chocolate candies. With these brands, I wanted to capture a sense of solid high quality product. Cariello was a challenge because i didn't want to be obvious that it's a mint chocolate candy (it's just the logo), when packaged it will be obvious. I probably will add some design to the logo (like a mint leaf). I made the C large and a little swoop on the O. As for LeBrasta I really had to add some kind of design to make it say "Mountain". I really love the colors i used they snap and have that mountainy feel LOL. The mountain above the name is hand created and edged to give it a nice ridged mountain feel and the font is so solid (found it on the internet). So here they are:

Digital Painting - JSTEV Character
This is my first Digital painting. After seeing numerous Digital Paintings I was inspired to do my own and what a success! Digital Painting is the same as real painting, everything you see was created by line strokes (there's no smudging). You have to have experience with colors/painting in order to successfully pull off Digital painting. It took about 14 hours to do this (using a mouse and Photoshop) and probably like a million clicks/strokes LOL. The beauty of digital painting is precision, being able to do layers, being able to undo (only used undo for big mistakes) and a free and huge color palette. I've learned is to keep doing your color strokes even if it doesn't look as if it's going to be what you want because you are continuosly doing layers of color, its okay it come out in the end! To start a digital painting you need a sketch or outline of the work (like in real painting) then you start off with your main colors for example: the shirt is mid light blue under it all! all the dark colors are layered on top to give the shadows and the lighter blue is to show where the light is (you blend by adding stokes that gradually draken/lighten the color); I found the face to be the easiest to do (mainly because I usually draw/paint people). Lastly I added a cloth over the eyes (an artistic expresssion). Cloth is very tricky to do and I was fortunate to pull this off! I love this Digital Painting and I advise everyone to at least attempt it its fun and rewarding and there are lots of tutortials and Youtube videos to guide you!!

Hidden Assassin - Game/Series Concept
I've worked real hard on this one! I introduce "Hidden Assassin". I created this when I was thinking of cool game concepts and It ended up becoming a series as well! The concept revolves around a mysterious Assassin who works for himself to assassinate evildoers (theres more behind the plot). The setting is an urban city in the not so distant future. ok now that I set you up with a general idea, now let's move on to tech side of it. I thought to myself what would a mysterious assassin look like. Assassins are stone cold killers so I decided hmm.. what if he didn't have a face! I tested some drawings out and came up with this character (no name yet). Lets call him for now, uh 'Unknown" LOL. 'Unknown" can talk subconsciously to the viewer/gamer LOL (remember its a working concept). SO basically he can fight (martial arts style) and I wanted to give him that urban appeal set for the future. His clothes represent that. I used tons of gray (took away most of the saturation) to give that atmosphere of a dark urban edgy feel. Prominent color I want featured for the game/series is the blood Its is a deep red i like how it contrasts with the gray. The secondary main character is an assassin as well i can't give you any info on her but I can tell you she is modeled after an actual person. I gave her some sex appeal. Ok!, your wondering what will become of this great concept.. I'm working on some more images of what the game/series would look like. I'll keep you all updated! (I want the game to be like GTA IV meets Ninja Gaiden)
